The Verdict | Top NBA GPP Plays, 2.7.19

Welcome, to the Judge’s Verdict. Thank God that the NBA trade deadline has officially passed. We have a tricky six-game slate on Thursday with several short-handed teams, so let’s be smart with our bankroll tonight.

Here are some of my top tournament plays for tonight’s slate.

Note: The numbers in parenthesis refer to the salaries of that particular player. The first number is the FanDuel (“FD”) salary, while the second number is the DraftKings (“DK”) salary.

Mike Conley (9.2, 8.4)

Memphis is a joke right now, as they just traded several guys and only have the following players even available for tonight (and two are questionable): Conley, Holiday, Washburn, JJJ, Rabb, Bruno, Carter, Yuta, and Noah/Anderson who are questionable. The sample size is too small to be reliable, but Conley sees an 8% usage bump (36% overall) and averages 1.72 fantasy points per minute with the rest of the bums left on this team. He gets to play the second fastest team in the league tonight in OKC, so I am willing to take a shot with him at less than 10% ownership in tournaments.

Andrew Wiggins (6.0, 5.9)

Point guard is loaded tonight while shooting guard is filled with traps everywhere. I am never a fan of rostering Wiggins, but at least we know the minutes will be there – as he’s played 34+ in nine straight games. The problem with Wiggins is he simply cannot make a shot right now: in his last three games, he is shooting 13-47! That is almost impossible. However, we love the minutes and the usage, and his price has come down on all sites. His shot will fall eventually and when it does he will get us easy 40+ fantasy points.

 LeBron (10.3, 10.4)

The Lakers got clowned by the Pelicans in the last week, and are basically the laughing stock of the league right now. And all eyes will be on LeBron tonight in a matchup against the Celtics. Plus, the Lakers are coming off a 40+ point loss to the Dipo-less Pacers a couple days ago. LeBron SHOULD be motivated and play all out tonight to prove a message to the rest of the league. I normally do not like rostering guys based on narratives, revenge, and motivation – but tonight is the exception, as I will once again roster LeBron in tournaments

Jaren Jackson (6.5, 6.0)

By the end of the season, JJJ is going to be over 8K. The Grizzlies traded both Gasol and JMG, so they are handing the keys to the rookie the rest of the season. I will be jumping on him nightly until his price significantly rises. We do have to worry about foul trouble with him, but with Memphis so depleted – I will gladly take that risk tonight and for the foreseeable future with JJJ.

Myles Turner (7.7, 6.5)

We always want to attack the Clippers bigs, and tonight they don’t even have any bigs left to play. Boban was traded. Gortat was waived. JMG and Zubac are not available yet. So, that leaves Harrell and…Motley Crew!?!? Turner should be able to feast tonight, and he’s been solid lately averaging 37 fantasy points in his last four games. His price seems a tad cheap on DK, so I am more than willing to take a shot on Turner tonight against a depleted Clippers team/frontcourt.

Alright, the Judge’s Verdict is in and it is final. Good luck tonight!
