The Verdict: Top GPP Plays, 3.13.19

Welcome, to the Judge’s Verdict. We have a 6 game slate tonight with Durant out for the Warriors. Giannis torpedoed our lineups in a can’t miss spot against the Pelicans last night, so let’s bounce back tonight.

Here are some of my top tournament plays for tonight’s slate.

Note: The numbers in parenthesis refer to the salaries of that particular player. The first number is the FanDuel (“FD”) salary, while the second number is the DraftKings (“DK”) salary.

Chris Paul (8.5, 6.9)

In cash games on FD, I am probably going to play both Russ and Steph. However, CP3’s price is very tempting tonight on DK for all formats, and I think he’s worth a tournament flier on FD as well. The Rockets play way up in pace against the Warriors, and CP3’s problem lately is pretty simple. He just cannot make a shot. He’s been under 40% in 6 straight games. Look at this horrid shooting:

4-10

1-10

2-8

2-11

3-8

Last 6 games: 12 – 47

Those numbers have to regress to the mean at some point. I wish the usage was higher, but he is going to snap out of this funk soon – and I want to ensure he’s in my tournament lineup when it happens.

Evan Fournier (5.4, 5.4)

Orlando is trying desperately to win games to make the playoffs, and they got a fantasy gold matchup against the Wizards tonight. Fournier got ejected last game after only 13 minutes, so there may be a bit of recency bias tonight. I need to save at SG, and Fournier should see close to 35 minutes in a pace up spot. I think he gets us 30 fantasy points with a decent chance at 35+ tonight.

 Paul George (10.0, 9.6)

I have been staring at SF for about an hour now, and I loathe them all. On DK, I could take a shot on LeVert, Ross, Isaac or Iggy (as always, DK gives you a plethora of options). On FD, though, I keep plugging in PG13 and moving on to other positions. I am still nervous about his shoulder injury, as he hasn’t looked right on the court – and took only 8 shots last game. However, PG13 stuffs that stat sheet better than maybe any player in the league – so even on poor shooting nights his floor is so safe. Similar to CP3, I expect the shooting to turn around shortly (assuming the shoulder is ok) – and a massive ceiling game is coming soon.

As we did for CP3, here is PG13’s shooting in his last 4 games. This will turn around.

8-25

7-23

5-16

2-8

Last 4 games: 22 – 72

NEVER BLAKE!!!!!!!!!

Blake has been under 40 fantasy points in 9 out of his last 11 games and has cost me a small house at this point. I will roster him again simply out of pure stubbornness. However, I will NEVER recommend his lifeless and soulless body again. So, I am leaning towards a lot of Aaron Gordon tonight against Washington. My biggest issues with Gordon is that I love Vucevic tonight, and I am not normally a fan of rostering those two together. Gordon has played 38 minutes in his 3 games vs. Washington this year, and the Wizards are awful on the boards and defending the PF spot (well, almost every spot). This will be one night where I roll out lineups with 3 Orlando guys.

Center is Site Dependent

Jarrett Allen has been over 30 fantasy points in his last 3 games, yet his DK price refuses to rise. At 4.7K, I will gladly have a decent amount of Allen exposure tonight. Draymond also appeals me tonight for tournaments on DK at 5.9K at center. On FD, I will try to spend up for Vuc or Drummond – and Drummond will go overlooked once again. He has been sensational since the ASB and was well on his way to 60 last game before Blake stole the soul of the Pistons and they got blown out by the mediocre Nets. Any slate where I can get Drummond at fewer than 10% when he has been the best center in the league (in terms of fantasy) – means that Drummond is an elite tournament play tonight against the Heat.
