The Verdict: Top GPP Plays, 12.25.18

Welcome to the Judge’s Verdict and Merry Christmas to all! We have a glorious 5 game slate on Christmas spread throughout the entire day. So, pace yourself for a long day of basketball. This is the perfect day to use multiple lineups, so you have exposure to each game. That will certainly make watching the games more enjoyable.

Here are some of my top tournament plays for today’s slate.

Note: The numbers in parenthesis refer to the salaries of that particular player. The first number is the FanDuel (“FD”) salary, while the second number is the DraftKings (“DK”) salary.

Kyrie Irving (9.2, 8.1)

First, let me say that the pricing is vastly different on FD and DK today, so your lineups may look entirely different depending on the site. The two point guards that stand out on DK are Dame and Kyrie at 7.8K and 8.1K, respectively. I love and will roster both guys at those prices on DK, but if I had to choose one – give me Kyrie (who I also will play on FD too). The thing that has stood out to me the most about Kyrie lately is how aggressive he’s been on the court. He’s averaged 20 shots in his last 6 games, and if you take away the 2 Celtics’ blowouts, he’s averaged 23 shots per game in his last 4 competitive games. Philly is one of the most overrated defensive teams in the league, and they continually get torched by opposing perimeter players. My only concern this year with playing Kyrie has been blowouts and effort, and on Christmas against Philly, Kyrie will be in a close game and be motivated.

Andre Iguodala (3.9, 3.3)
