NBA | Christmas Thoughts

Christmas Day slates are always a challenge because it features great games and a lot of stars. Narrowing down which stars and matchups you want to target is essential for NBA DFS success on Christmas Day. Teams tend to open up slow, especially with the early games, as there is less time to prepare for the game and no morning shootaround. With that, I wish everyone celebrating a very merry Christmas, and let’s get right to it!

Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks (o/u 228.5, MIL -10)

Milwaukee is 4th in defensive rating, 6th in pace.

New York is 29th in defensive rating, 13th in pace.

Happy Holidays, Milwaukee. Your Bucks face the lowly Knicks to open the Christmas slate. Over the last month or so of the season, the Knicks have become one of THE teams to attack, as their defensive rating has gone down while their pace has shot up.

The first stud on the slate we get is Giannis Antetokounmpo. This is an elite spot for Giannis, as no one on the Knicks is capable of containing him. And I love to target stars at the Garden, as it becomes more of a spectacle than a game. With that being said, Giannis isn’t easy to squeeze into your lineups with so many other studs in play. The risk for Giannis is the potential blowout, but if the Knicks can keep it close, he should smash. Only getting three quarters of Giannis though, can potentially kill you early on. It’s crazy to think it but Giannis is a bit of a high-risk, high-reward option.
