NBA Cash Breakdown 2/8

Eight NBA games on tonight’s slate and there is still a bunch of news in the balance as we had guys traded a few days ago. Some may have already cleared paperwork wise while others haven’t. Just be mindful of that when making rosters and make sure you are checking the news thoroughly today. There are a lot of good matchups on this slate and it really should be a good one. Let’s get to it.

DK Core 4

Malcolm Brogdon ($5,600)

Hassan Whiteside ($6,800)

Shabazz Napier ($4,700)

Julius Randle ($8,000)

MALCOLM BROGDON sees a nice spike in production without Khris Middleton on the floor and honestly, Brogdon has been someone I have leaned on in cash quite a bit this year. His price never really moves and he is hitting value much more than he isn’t. With Middleton out, there is no way I can go away from him tonight. HASSAN WHITESIDE absolutely hates the Kings. I know that is narrative driven, but those are words right out of his mouth. He played for the Kings franchise from 2010-2012 then they released him. The first time these two teams played he went for 58.5 DK points in just 29 minutes. He had 24 rebounds in that game. When we get a motivated Whiteside, he is absolutely capable of stuff like that. SHABAZZ NAPIER’s price, for whatever reason, fell $600 for tonight’s game against CHI. He has been easily over value in seven straight games. The matchup with CHI is pretty darn good and he should see the high 20s to low 30s minutes wise. JULIUS RANDLE is going to round out our Core 4 tonight. He came back and put up 31 points and 7 boards the other night and I know that was without AD, but I am not concerned that he is back. It shouldn’t take a whole lot away from Randle. AD back hurts Holiday more than anything.

FD CORE 4

Malcolm Brogdon ($6,300)

Willie Cauley Stein ($5,400)

Harrison Barnes ($5,500)

Julius Randle ($8,300)

BROGDON and RANDLE were covered above. WILLIE CAULEY STEIN is the C I like on FD tonight. He is $100 cheaper on FD than DK and all of the other centers are priced up massively on FD. The lack of minutes may look concerning lately but most of that is strictly due to blowouts. The first time these two teams played this year Willie played 33.5 minutes and put up 26 points and 13 boards. They are going to need his size to combat Whiteside, so I expect to see that same type of game here. HARRISON BARNES is going to round us out on FD. At just $5,500, it is tough to get away from in cash. He probably doesn’t have the massive ceiling, but he should absolutely get there for cash purposes. I realize that this is a new team for him but this should energize him a bit as the Kings are actually on the verge of making the playoffs. His veteran leadership is going to be counted on quite a bit and their style of play should lead to more fantasy production as well.
