NBA Cash Breakdown 1/11

We have a pretty good nine-game NBA slate tonight. There are a handful of good games to choose from and with Giannis most likely OUT tonight, we really only have Harden and Embiid with huge price tags tonight. The games I will be looking to target the most are WAS/MIL and  PHI/ATL, but I also like the UTA/LAL and NYK/IND games as well. The two games with the most blowout risk certainly look like the HOU/CLE and GSW/CHI games, which makes playing Harden a little bit more difficult in my opinion. It is Harden and I will never fault you for playing him. I am just saying this could be a night he doesn’t get his 38-40 minutes. Lets dig in!

DK Core 4

Brad Beal ($8,600)

Donovan Mitchell ($7,900)

Malcolm Brogdon ($5,700)

Khris Middleton ($6,900)

I mentioned up top that I wanted to target the WAS/MIL and I love the three guys I have in my core. BEAL is still the guy in WAS and will be all year. The fact that his price came down is a little surprising but without Giannis, we will certainly take advantage. BROGDON and MIDDLETON are now simply way too cheap for their “new” role with Giannis most likely missing tonight’s game. Both will have a lot more usage, as Giannis has been a usage monster all year. This game should stay close and will be a back and forth type game. Washington plays fast and plays horrible defense, so we certainly like that for the MIL guys, especially with usage bumps. MITCHELL is in the core because the Jazz literally have no guards left. RUBIO, EXUM and NETO are all going to miss. Mitchell is going to be forced to play point and again, that should help him in the peripheral categories and the matchup is really good. The Lakers play at the third fastest pace and a game like that certainly suits Mitchell’s skill set. Last time out things went just about how I projected. Mitchell was still able to score, but his assist number rose to seven, which is phenomenal because he is usually getting there on points alone. With the addition of peripheral stats, we could really see a ceiling game here.

FD CORE 4

Dario Saric ($3,900)

Donovan Mitchell ($7,900)

Malcolm Brogdon ($5,700)

Ben Simmons ($9,300)

BROGDON and MITCHELL stay in the core for the reasons above. SARIC is added here because he is just way too cheap on FD tonight. With the coaching change, Saric didn’t quite see 30 minutes, but 25 is certainly better than high teens/low twenties. They did play a lot more free flowing on offense which was very encouraging to see, and they clearly love playing for Saunders. SIMMONS made the core because this is literally the best kind of matchup for him. A team that plays super fast and turns it over by far the most in the league is just the perfect spot for Simmons to get a lot of possessions in transition, and that is obviously where he thrives.
