Studs

James Palmer Jr. – Nebraska ($8300): Ever since Copeland went down for the year, Nebraska really needed guys to step up their play. Palmer seemed to be the main guy who attempted to do so, which can be seen from the ridiculous volume of shots he’s been putting up over the past few weeks. Yes, a volume scorer getting up even more shots is a DFS dream, but Palmer has also seen his efficiency and FG% go way down as well. In three of his last five games, he couldn’t even keep his FG% over 20%. Yikes. The good news is I think his poor play might keep some people off of him today. It’s senior night in Nebraska and he gets a dream matchup against one of the worst defenses in the conference in Iowa. He just put up 40 FP in his last game and I think he could even go for 50 FP in this one.

Christian Vital – Uconn ($7500): More injuries for UConn. Adams is still out and Gilbert managed to get himself hurt again in their last game. This leaves Vital having to do everything for this Husky offense. In previous games where both Adams and Gilbert were out, we saw Vital have the ability to get to 40+ FP on a few occasions, including their last game. He gets a really nice matchup against a soft ECU team that ranks 217th in the country defensively. Vital has the ability to put up TD type numbers here with taking 15+ shots.

Mid Level

Josh Carlton – Uconn ($6300): Carlton has been getting more and more involved in the offense all year as coach Hurley tried to figure his team out. Carlton has shown the ability to smash fantasy wise and reach the 40+ FP mark on a few occasions and his usage rate get to the 30% mark. With both Adams and Gilbert both out, UConn is the team I want to target today and Carlton should see a ton of that lost usage. ECU really struggles against the post and in their last matchup, Carlton exploded for 47 FP going 20/16 with 3 blocks. Another performance like that is definitely possible today.

Issac Fleming – East Carolina ($6100): Fleming has been on a real heater lately, reaching 28+ FP in five straight games. The former Hawaii transfer has been able to get his usage rate up to close to 30% and rack up assists while taking 15+ shots. What makes his upside so high is his nice 3.5% steal rate. Fleming found himself in foul trouble in their last matchup against UConn, but I don’t see that happening here at home. I think this game will be faster paced and Fleming should be able to continue his good form and rack up the FP.

Value

Sydney Wilson – Uconn ($3900): Sticking with this depleted UConn team, the freshman Wilson should slide right back into the starting rotation and play 35+ minutes. Wilson really stepped up with Gilbert and Adams out previously as we saw him post back to back 20+ FP performances. He’s not the most consistent players (he shot 2-11 last time I played him) but being at this price with 30 FP upside is a steal and I will be rostering him throughout the majority of my lineups.

Ron Harper Jr – Rutgers ($4800): My Rutgers squad has been unbelievable all year, vastly overachieving their expectations. It’s come from a bunch of different guys all year and it seems like now Harper Jr has become the focal point of their offense. The freshman has been able to post 30+ FP in his last two games and getting up 10+ shots. Unless you want to play Tanner Borchardt or throw a dart at one of the Ohio State guys, I think Harper makes one of the more safer value plays in today’s slate and I will be rolling him out for cash.
