Batter Breakdown 5/7

Batter Breakdown 5/7

What an awesome Monday night we had. The Batter Breakdown was on point and we’ll look to duplicate it again. We have 13 games on tap this evening and some amazing spots to target. There are weather concerns in Coors, which could really shake the slate up. We could potentially get some low owned Coors bats, or a rainout that makes some great spots chalkier than we’d like.

There are so many ways to go on tonight’s slate, so it’s really hard to mention just one cash and one GPP play. Ask any questions after checking out QH. Let’s see who we are targeting on tonight’s massive 13 game slate. (Also, listen to today’s MLB DFS Quick Hits for all the player info you need.)

You have Buster Posey in Coors, which always has some appeal as he’s been hitting a little better of late. But, if you don’t want to pay up at catcher, we definitely have some other options. Mike Zunino continues to click for us and he’s always a risky play but is in a great spot vs Taylor Clarke. Robinson Chirinos went deep last night and is in another great spot tonight vs Danny Duffy. Lastly, if looking to punt check out Isiah Kiner-Falefa vs Norris. I am trying to stick in that Zunino or Chirinos realm, but if I have to pay down that’s fine.

First Base

Cash- There are a few first base targets you can have for cash tonight, but here’s my top one. You have Brandon Belt in Coors for $4400. We all know Belt does have legit power and that AT&T prevents the full potential. He heads into Coors tonight where the beast can be unleashed. In his career on the road he has a .197 ISO, .453 SLG, .344 wOBA, 115 wRC+ and a 36% HH rate. Lock and load some Belt.

GPP- There are all the captain obvious plays you can make at 1B, and I went over some that are really solid on QH today. But, if you want some serious salary relief with some major upside we go to………a $3100 Chris Davis. In his 16 games since breaking his hitless streak, Davis is hitting .298!!!!! He has hit 3 home runs, has a .255 ISO, a .553 SLG, a 145 wRC+ and a 45.5% HH rate. He’s straight balling and still free on DK. It’s still boom or bust since it is Davis, but facing Hector Velazquez doesn’t hurt. The weather and the ballpark are in favor of Davis tonight.

Other First Base Options- Rhys Hoskins, Trey Mancini, Josh Bell, Mitch Moreland, Yandy Diaz, Ji-Man Choi, Nate Lowe, Niko Goodrum, Albert Pujols, Joey Votto

Second Base

Cash- Wait, there’s a player that has great history vs a pitcher tonight, he’s playing in Coors Field and is only $3900? Would that intrigue you? Well, it intrigues me. Joe Panik comes into Coors tonight at only $3900. Panik is riding a 7 game hit streak into Coors tonight. He’s only hitting .267 over that stretch but is slugging .400 with a .308 wOBA. In his career, Panik is 8 for 18 vs Senzatela with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. (Altuve is still too damn cheap on tonight’s slate and is very cash relevant.)

GPP- Jonathan Villar crushed a granny last night and was robbed by a fan of another. He’s riding a five-game hitting streak into tonight’s action. Over the last five games, he’s hitting .333 with a .619 SLG, a .286 ISO, a 138 wRC+ and a 33.3% HH rate. He’s raking and facing Hector Velasquez tonight bodes well for another nice night from Villar.

Other Second Base Options- Brandon Lowe, Michael Chavis, Howie Kendrick, Mike Moustakas, Ronny Rodriguez, Adam Frazier, Robinson Cano

Third Base

Cash- Alex Bregman is cooking since his injury. Over the last four games, he has 4 home runs and is hitting .412. He’s crushing everything. He has a 1.118 SLG, .706 ISO, a 309 wRC+ and a 65% HH rate. CRUSHING BASEBALLS. Tonight is another great spot for Bregman as he faces Danny Duffy. Lefties have been mashing Duffy and his career and there’s a great chance that Bregman finds the Crawford Boxes tonight.

GPP- Rafael Devers rolls into tonight’s awesome matchup vs David Hess swinging a very hot stick. He’s hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games. Over that time he’s hitting .354 with a .521 SLG and hit his first home run last week…..when we wrote him up here. He’s going deep tonight and will be overlooked in the popular Red Sox stacks tonight.

Other Third Base Options- Nolan Arenado, ANTHONY RENDON IS BACK, Michael Chavis, Eduardo Escobar, Kris Bryant, Yandy Diaz, Logan Forsythe, Howie Kendrick, Mike Moustakas, Josh Donaldson, Jeimer Candelario

Cash- Carlos Correa continues to stay hot at the plate. I know I’ve written about him a lot already this year, but hey he keeps producing. Correa is riding a 16 GAME HITTING STREAK into tonight’s action vs Danny Duffy. He hit an absolute missed last night for his sixth home run over the hit streak. He’s crushing baseballs, driving in runs and gets Danny Duffy tonight.

GPP- Tonight Max Fried heads into LA and runs into the juggernaut known as the Dodgers offense. One of the newest contributors to that offense is Chris Taylor. Taylor had been a massive disappointment this season, well until AJ Pollock went down and Taylor’s playing time became a more consistent thing. In the last four games, he has multiple hits in every game. He’s hitting .529 with a 1.000 SLG, 2 home runs, a .636 wOBA and brings some speed to the base paths. Fried has been very very good but for $3600 Taylor brings some HUGE GPP upside tonight.

Other Shortstop Options- Trevor Story, Javy Baez, Elvis Andrus, Xander Bogaerts, Eduardo Escobar, Jonathan Villar, Jorge Polanco, Ronny Rodriguez, Andrelton Simmons, Brandon Crawford, Gordon Beckham

Cash- 13 game slates will lead to so many targets tonight. For the most part, I will use the OF as stack pieces unless I am going a non-stack build. You have Mike Trout vs Norris which is outstanding. Betts, JD and Benintendi are in great spots vs Hess and I like Beni the most due to ownership. George Springer is on fire right now and like his Astros counterparts mentioned above, he’s a great play tonight. Tommy Pham after a granny yesterday has another great spot vs Clarke tonight. So many ways to go tonight.

GPP- Christian Yelich yet again is in a nice GPP spot tonight vs Strasburg. Starling Marte could be sneaky nice vs Sampson and his reverse splits. Dwight Smith Jr went 0fer last night and looks to bounce back at low ownership in a smash spot. The Twins combo of Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler are back in play tonight as the Twins stack should be another fun one.

Other Outfield Options- Ketel Marte, David Peralta, Avisail Garcia, Kevin Kiermaier, Victor Robles, Steven Duggar, Brandon Belt, Jose Martinez, Niko Goodrum, Nick Castellanos, Gregory Polanco, Nick Senzel, David Fletcher
